How long after you get white discharge (in your underwear) do you get your period?
I am just wondering how long it takes for your period to come along after white/clear discharge appears in your underwear?
Vaginal discharge can happen any time throughout your menstrual cycle and is part of a healthy bodily process. There are negative reasons for discharge, but in general, discharge is a way for the body to clean the vaginal and carry out dead vaginal cells. Discharge can be "thin" or "thick" depending on what stage you are within your cycle.
The worry is only when there's changes to your discharge such as frequency, amount, colour or smell... and also if there is any itchiness, irritation or pain around your vagina. Also, discharge is discharge and you should not find any blood content in your discharge unless you are on your period or have just finished it.
If you are not experiencing itchiness or a foul smell from your discharge, it is likely to be regular and healthy discharge. Abnormal discharge is quite noticeable either by feel or by smell. Your discharge should be milky, clear or yellow, so you should always check your discharge (as gross as that might be) to ensure there are no great changes in colour or an unusual smell. Many girls have discharge after their period and it does not indicate abnormalities.
Also, if you become sexually excited, your vaginal will secrete fluids which may appear to be discharge to lubricate your vagina in preparation for sexual stimulation and/or insertion. Even if you don't engage in sexual activities, you may experience "excitement" fluids when you see someone attractive or sexually arousing. This is also the case if you masturbate as it often gets confused with vaginal discharge.
Either way, as long as the fluid itself does not undergo changes which seem awkward to you, there is no need to be worried of problems. That's not to say problems can't exist even if you have regular discharge, but that would require a medical professional to provide you with that diagnosis. Nevertheless, rest assured that discharge at any time throughout your cycle, from one period to another, is quite normal!
